The Leonessa route, a ring-route that starts and ends in Pelago, runs for about 70 kilometres, crossing landscapes of extraordinary beauty, a full immersion in the unspoilt nature and spectacular views of Tuscany.

From Podere Castellare starts this fantastic ring-route of about 10 km, discovering the splendid hills of the Nipozzano Estate, famous for its castle and the fine wines produced by Frescobaldi. Following the trail, you will ride through woods and vineyards, as well as panoramic viewpoints, passing Villa Albizi, the Church of San Niccolò and the small, semi-abandoned hamlet of Nipozzano, for a mix of unspoilt nature, cultivated fields and historical sites from the Middle Ages to World War II.

From Podere Castellare starts this 9 km loop itinerary that takes us to Pelago through the valley of the Torrente Vicano.
From the neo-Gothic castle of Ferrano, through an easy ford and woods of chestnut and turkey oaks, to the olive groves of the medieval Villa Grassina, we reach Pelago and its castle in the historic centre of the village. We then return to the farm via Via del Madonnino.

this is a hiking itinerary, which requires a certain sense of direction, as well as some experience and knowledge of the mountain terrain, walking training, and suitable footwear and equipment.
This loop route of just under 14 km starts at the Abbey of Vallombrosa, where you can leave your car in the various car parks beside the structure or near the monumental pool. You start in the direction of Saltino, to continue on a dirt road that gently ascends to Secchieta via Macinaia. Through woods, small waterfalls, bridges, refreshment points and panoramic views, you will enjoy a priceless view of Vallombrosa Abbey from above.
